End of Life

We love our East University Veterinary Family and aim to show it through the complete veterinary services we offer for people and their pets. Our goal is to accommodate our patients' needs at every life stage and continue raising the bar for both current and future patients.

Wellness Care

Picture
We know your pets are your family, so our goal is to prevent illness whenever possible. The wellness programs we provide have great rewards for both owners and their pets. These visits allow for us to care for your loved ones and ideally catch an issue before it turns into a real problem. Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pets and allow for routine care to help your pet live a long, enjoyable and rewarding life.

Boarding

Picture
Pets aren’t always able to make a trip with you when traveling. We are happy to provide a safe, relaxing and enjoyable place for your pet while you are gone. In 2018, our hospital added a huge boarding facility to our hospital. We have team members dedicated to caring solely for your pets while you're away! In the event that an issue should arise for your pet, the pet care attendants have full access to doctors and hospital team members to get them the care they need. We provide elevated cots, blankets, food/water, plenty of walks for our canine friends and full care for your pets while you’re away. Our kennels are inside and fully air conditioned and heated and also have music to help put them at ease. We require that all dogs are current for Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and the Bi-Valent influenza vaccinations. All cats are required to be current on their Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations.

Dentistry

Picture
EUVH is proud to offer state-of-the-art dental care. Dentistry is often an overlooked part of the health of your pet. While most are concerned about the smell of their pet’s breath, it may an indicator of a much larger problem. Dental disease can not only be painful for your pet but can also cause much larger issues and put them at risk of developing diseases of the entire body. Routine dental care helps to avoid many of these issues.

Diagnostics

Picture
We offer a range
of diagnostic
services including:
  • Lab
  • Radiology
  • Ultrasound
At EUVH, we are proud to offer cutting edge diagnostics technology. Many of our services are provided in the hospital and on the same day. We have a full lab suite on site with the ability to run blood chemistries, blood counts, parasite screening, electrolyte levels and much more. If your pet needs a test that we do not offer in our hospital, we rely on outdoor laboratories to get accurate results to best care for your pet.

Our hospital also offers both dental and full body digital radiography. Digital radiographs are safer, faster, easier to share and offer more clarity than traditional x-rays. This method of radiology also uses less radiation which means your pet and our team have a safer experience. The image quality is far superior to that of a processed film and can give us the possibility to discover disease sooner and identify problems with better accuracy.

While most people think of ultrasounds to look for puppies and kittens (our favorite!) we also offer ultrasounds for diagnostic purposes as well.  An ultrasound uses sound waves to examine specific areas of the body or internal organs painlessly. This can help give us a better understanding of what is happening within your pet’s body in real-time.

Puppies/Kittens

Picture
Having a pet join your family as a puppy or kitten is a real treat! We love watching them grow and certainly want the best for them. We see puppies and kittens more frequently than most patients. At these visits, they receive vaccinations, preventive medication and health checks. Having your new pet seen by a veterinarian and team member also allows for a safe socialization experience and this is the time to have discussions to set your pet up for being a successful family member to love and enjoy for years to come!

Senior Care

Picture
Thanks to improved veterinary medicine, better diets and preventative medicine, pets are living longer now than ever. Pets, along with their owners, are facing a new set of age-related conditions that are much more common in senior and geriatric patients. Senior pets require increased attention and more wellness visits with their veterinarian. They need different diets than younger pets, and sometimes need medications to help with conditions they develop as they age. Talk to us about how to care for your older pets and prepare for age-related issues they may experience.

End of Life

Picture
This is certainly the hardest part of loving a pet (and one of our hardest times in your family’s life), and when the time comes our team offers end of life care for your loved ones. Often, we have seen patients from the beginning of life all the way to the end. As difficult as these decisions are, we consider this act of love to be one of the greatest responsibilities entrusted to our profession. Our veterinarians and team members do our best to discuss these decisions in an honest and loving way. Whether we have cared for your pet throughout its entire life, or we see your loved one for the first time to provide humane euthanasia, you and your pet are regarded with utmost respect.
